India - United States Relations

Certain people who were ringing alarm bells when it comes to R&D stand vindicated. They had advised the government about investments much before the whole self reliance slogan caught on.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed hope that his vision to “Make India Great Again” would align with President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” agenda. However, if Washington persists with its “America First” trade stance, New Delhi may be compelled to adopt an “India First” realpolitik approach — ensuring its defence preparedness remains uncompromised.

Our festive season in which we exchange lots and lots of gifts is around. If we just put tarrif on American dry fruits like walnuts, almonds and pistachio, we can make their agriculture of these products defunt within this festive season. Should India do it. Ne4arly 80% of USA exports of these are to India.

I will be extremely happy to see retaliatory tarrif from India now - not doing it is a sign of weakness!

Need to find niche products which hurts trumps finances or votes. Not the wider us economy. That will help US get democrats to lobby for us.

Ahead Of PM Modi's Visit, Japan Scraps US Trip Last Minute Over Trade Deal

Japan's trade negotiator Ryosei Akazawa cancelled a visit to the US at the last minute on Thursday. The move threatens to delay finalisation of a $550 billion investment package offered by Japan to the US in order to ease punitive US tariffs.

Akazawa was scheduled to visit the US on Thursday, to formalise confirmation of the $550 billion package and its financial details, such as the split of returns between the two countries, per Reuters.

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick had also communicated about an announcement this week about Japan's $550 billion investment.

According to Yoshimasa Hayashi, a spokesperson for the Japanese government, "It was found that there are points that need to be discussed at the administrative level during coordination with the American side. Therefore, the trip has been cancelled."

The US and Japan had arrived at an agreement about cutting tariffs on Tokyo's imports to 15 per cent - lower than the previous 25 per cent - in exchange for the investment pledge.

No. If anything, getting Ukraine admitted as a NATO member was Biden-appointee Victoria Nuland's idea. Same lass who architected the BD coup.
There's no way they'd admit Ukraine into NATO. Not now not ever . Just as insurance cos don't insure terminally ill people . Ukraine theoretically joins NATO & invokes Article 4 & Ukraine's problems becomes NATO's problems.

The objective was always to convey the impression to Russia that they were on the verge of recruiting Ukraine into NATO just as they kept promising Ukraine admission into NATO was imminent. They successfully baited both countries into war.
The EU is picking the tab for Ukraine to buy S100b in US weapons as part of a security guarantee.
Got that but what was the 10% part ?
I doubt the Russians plan to push further into Ukraine. They have captured the Russian-speaking enclaves and have consolidated their hold on Crimea. Ukraine's strike on Ru strategic bomber bases were aided (perhaps even planned) by the Americans.
Well whichever way you look at it , Russia's not getting to keep its acquisitions in peace & Ukraine is unable to dislodge Russia from the Crimea & Eastern Ukraine. This stalemate is worse than the one we saw in WW-1 trench warfare. At least that started giving way in 4 years . There's no sign of either side folding up here.

It's best to stand strong against USA in this environment. Not from emotional perspective but strategic perspective.

We should take time to grasp the extent of trumps agenda and use that time to diversify exports and invest in Africa in building people to people relations like we did in Afghanistan with continuity.
That's also the reason that India still have an in with Taliban cause Indian soft power over populace there.

I was obviously of above opinion and only got more sure after raghuram rajan said India should rethink oil purchases 🤣..

Array bhaiya majboori hai. There is huge cache of arms and ammo left over in Afg. Pakistan is adamant of sending Afg refugees back in thousands and then it can cause mayhem in whole Asia. If that man power is diverted to Kashmir like in 90's then it is a huge threat. There is an escalatory danger of asymmetric clash. On other hand this Asim Munir wants to use it for strategic depth.

Learn English and then read again. I am speaking of a different thing. Don't go into your own tangent everytime disregarding everything else.

this racist retard has now gone absolutely nuts, peak of frustration & desperation... , at this rate we should not even accept the incoming ambassador until they start behaving in a diplomatic manner.

They are just grasping straws now. Trying to shift blame. Indian govt is showing maturity by not engaging in war of words, and that's more annoying for those guys.

Agreed. I actually think that a mature response without media theatrics - no matter what its nature - is the way forward. People who do hoopla in the media are the most desperate lot in any situation. See our own domestic politics.

Articles like this one will be pushed to your feed. There will be facts mixed with sources pushing exaggerated narratives from a single side. The latest articles all have Indian freelance journalists doing the heavy lifting for obvious reasons. India's messaging will be diluted in order push a certain perspective as has been the case in the past.

India spends all this money on PR management for its 'vishwa' series when it should actually be studying IW and plugging information leaks in its own ministries. I used to give babus the benefit of doubt earlier. However, the incompetence when it comes to certain IR and IT aspects is staggering. It is like they are living in the dot-com era.
