Why is HAL hiring laser trackers now? Is it for another Tejas mk2 prototype ?
The 1st mk2 prototype should enter equipping stage now.
Laser trackers are needed when fuselage sun modules and wings are mated with one another.
Absolutely..... As per the given timeline it has to be the second prototype. Why is HAL hiring laser trackers now? Is it for another Tejas mk2 prototype ?

Its not HAL, its ADA side. For what I don't know. Why is HAL hiring laser trackers now? Is it for another Tejas mk2 prototype ?

120 Mk2 with 83+97 Mk1A and MRFA is not bad at all. We also have 84 Super Sukhoi. 126 AMCA is not a good sign however.
its too bad when your real enemy is inducting jets in 1000s,120 Mk2 with 83+97 Mk1A and MRFA is not bad at all. We also have 84 Super Sukhoi. 126 AMCA is not a good sign however.
You forgot bulk of their fleet is facing east. Deploying large number of aircraft in Tibet is not easy! If 120 Mk2, 180 Mk1A and MRFA is achieved we will have over 400 4.5 generation jets on top of what we have now, which means a big chunk of that 400 can face China.its too bad when your real enemy is inducting jets in 1000s,
china has 600+ J-10 and 200 j20 not to forget about j11 and 15,16, forget about old 3rd jet jet china has in service ,
they probably have 2000+ active jets in the air right now.
we at-least need 1000+ active fighter jets in air,
this is not how we orders our own stuffs.
Also, prospect of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Nepal all attacking at the same time along with China and Pakistan is so funny and delusional. 1st, our intelligence agencies will not just be sitting back and fiddling their fingers; expect to see signifcant internal turmoil in those countries. They are so weak we will literally crush them within 2 weeks even if they all attack at once. Maldives posing a threat to India?
But can't they be mobilised against us when china need..? Tejas mk2 is too low in my opinion...while jaguar no can be replenished with Tejas mk1A as it brings almost on par capability but to arrest falling squadron strength due to retiring mirage 2k and mig29 upg and on top of that building squadron no...we need Tejas mk2 in lot of no...may be 250-300...this 120 can't be justified from any pov...when you are complaining about aircraft no..You forgot bulk of their fleet is facing east. Deploying large number of aircraft in Tibet is not easy! If 120 Mk2, 180 Mk1A and MRFA is achieved we will have over 400 4.5 generation jets on top of what we have now, which means a big chunk of that 400 can face China.
Yes... specially mk2...Imo AMCA should be in 250-300 numbers.
IM NOT TALKING ABOUT OTHERS HERE.Also, prospect of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Nepal all attacking at the same time along with China and Pakistan is so funny and delusional. 1st, our intelligence agencies will not just be sitting back and fiddling their fingers; expect to see signifcant internal turmoil in those countries. They can always place additional order just like Mk1A in case of Mk2 as well. Which I think they will. Once it goes into LSP, I expect to see IAF placing additional 100-150 orders for it. IAF has this cautious habit of testing a platform with a conservative number of orders, before they fully commit to it.120 Mk2 with 83+97 Mk1A and MRFA is not bad at all. I'm quite confident that the eventual Mk-2 numbers will reach above 200. I've given my reasoning for why I think this is inevitable multiple times.
After the first ~120 we'll likely move to a 'Mk-2A' with improvements.
In the distant future, a single engine fighter built around the Next-Gen Engine (assuming that program succeeds) will be a possibility, but let's not think that far ahead.
So, In HAL chairman's opinion, competition is not good for his company.
These discussions are irrelevant today. If they can deliver a good enough product on time, the Air Force will place orders in large numbers. However, they are not confident because of ADA/HAL's bad reputation.its too bad when your real enemy is inducting jets in 1000s,

Why promote healthy competition when you are at the helm of a monopoly with "stellar" performance and the best minds in your organization? So, In HAL chairman's opinion, competition is not good for his company.
Makes sense.

Nope. MK2 is coming and getting inducted in huge numbers(read over 200). Mark it.Wait for sometime. Mk2 will end up being a TD. Mk1A will be produced in numbers. Higher possibility of seeing a single engine version of the AMCA.
I was in a small school competition held by the aeronautical society in IIT bombay 1995 when I got the first photo of the LCA. It is still with me.Nope. MK2 is coming and getting inducted in huge numbers(read over 200). Mark it.
Real enemy? You think Japan, Korea with advanced 5th gen fighters and hoards of 4.5 gen fighters aren't real enemies? What about US Navy? Or Taiwan with 4.5 generation F16V? Or Phillipines with US land and air forces and F22? China faces 10x greater threat towards the East than the west. You think entire PLAAF will be deployed in Tibet with their 6 airbases?IM NOT TALKING ABOUT OTHERS HERE.
even if we only go war with china,
they will obviously deploy their full strenth on our border. as they only have 1 real enemy,
we have 3 enemies pakistan , bangladesh and china,
actually we need more jets than china,
they wont have those jet in east during peace time.
I am utterly confident that Tejas Mk2 can handle any aircraft in the PLAAF and PAF except J20 J35 and obviously J36 and J50.I'm quite confident that the eventual Mk-2 numbers will reach above 200. I've given my reasoning for why I think this is inevitable multiple times.

These kids will start bitching like imran khan fans when they are faced with reality. By then, they will be with kids.I was in a small school competition held by the aeronautical society in IIT bombay 1995 when I got the first photo of the LCA. It is still with me.
