The future is space. we will soon have staellites capable of locking on to targets arranged by AWACS and guided by space based assets. The next frontier is Space based lasers.
What about pseudo satelites like Cats Infinity? Are those kinds of systems capable of this?

The case for making R37M in India in view of the 2025 conflict (lessons drawn for BVR):

Very long-range air-to-air missiles (VLRAAMs) like the R-37M are becoming increasingly critical for ensuring the operational survivability and effectiveness of large legacy fighter platforms like the Su-30 MKI...... Given its radar cross-section (RCS)....... Su 30 is inherently more susceptible to early detection, making it ill-suited for deep penetration roles in heavily contested airspace presently.......... However, its large airframe while a liability in terms of stealth offers a significant advantage in payload capacity, enabling it to carry multiple heavy BVRAAMs like the R-37M......If paired with modern sensors and cooperative engagement capabilities, the Su-30 will launch these long-range missiles well outside hostile engagement zones, allowing it to remain relevant in high-threat environments........ arming Su-30 with R-37M will basically transforms it into a potent stand-off missile truck, capable of neutralizing threats long before they can respond..... Basically forcing enemy formation to run for cover & be on defensive 24*7............ while the import & integration of the R-37M into the IAF is a near term solution.....we need to accelerate development of an indigenous VLRAAM with enhanced range, speed, and terminal-phase maneuverability in same league of AIM-174B & R-37.

This is what i understood by reading info bites:

On 7 May, for some inexplicable reason, India was unwilling to think of anything beyond striking terrorist and non-military targets. In this process IAF exposed themselves.

We should keep in mind that significant parts of Pakistani culture (and some of ours as well) is more feudalistic. Some also fantasise about being a martial race. This makes them more mentally tuned to be chivalrous which pays off for a short while against a bigger adversary. The religious zeal of the current Pak armed forces further enhances this penchant.

So PAF is highly trained to hit a few strong punches in the initial phase in the belief that sober and less martial Indians will back off and not use more of their capabilities. This is what they did by employing their operational doctrines and leveraging short-term superior network fusion, AWACs and higher ranged BVRs.

Against a more stronger India, the only realistic option for the anti-India Pak armed forces is to land a few initial strong punches to showcase their absolute importance to their public, while simultaneously hoping for hostilities to stop quickly.

However, GoI chose not to back down and gave more operational freedom to the IAF for subsequent missions - the IAF would definitely have wanted to strike back.

So now a more synergistic continuation of Op Sindoor was launched. I read in some article that PAF has asked for more secure cyber communications. So India tried crippling Pak C4I systems, which was partially successful. Simultaneously there were successful missile strikes on their air-bases. our army also succeeded in taking out their drones and missiles. These successes intimidated them. Something like a puffed-up person getting deflated under a more sustained onslaught. They weren't geared for a longer battle which meant more losses of assets and a precarious economic situation.

As Hellfire has posted on Twitter - the Indian armed forces train to subjugate their Pakistani counterparts. So once the mandate to execute this was given, the results began to show on the ground. We are trained to absorb initial losses and employ more of our operational capabilities.

The nuke card was not much of an option. We were calling their bluff.

A point the Pak army missed was that the current socio-political system has changed towards being more aggressive; this is in line with more right-winged tendencies and less pacifist mindsets spreading around the world. Hence their assumption of cessation of hostilities within 1-2 days did not materialise.

I think that the Pak army would either call for a ceasefire early on, and if this is not accepted, later on they would get into a do-or-die mode. We will have to wait for a future war to see if this is the case. But a much bigger war is just a few years away. Everyone knows that. In a future war we will loose men, be damaged economically, and yet be more prepared to resist China more effectively - just like Europe is wearily preparing for war against Russia even though Russia has lost close to a million people in Ukraine.

The most negative thing i feel about this episode is that our news and print media is too much into presenting operational successes and saying what the GoI wants us to believe. Skepticism and a questioning attitute is always important. An example is what our CDS Anil Chauhan has said - the IAF reviewed its tactics and made changes - if the IAF only believed that it was right, then it would have less ability to rectify itself.

There are "intellectuals" from Pakistan who are lecturing India on Geopolitics. They have superpowers like Turkey and China backing them (this is a major talking point). They are winning on all fronts. This guy forgets the sheer humbling of Bilawal led delegation on his recent US tour. I cannot fathom how so called educated Pakistani "awam" that lives mostly in London digests these takes.

Also, I have picked up a new talking point that the Pakistani delegation tried to peddle:

India is a fascist regime and Pakistan has been a democratic republic that has been a responsible power.

This is for humour. I am merely stating how far image generators have come. I played around for a minute to make this artistic. So hear official narratives coming for IAF as well as real "analysts" who have served in the forces to get a closer look at things. Then come to your conclusions. Also, there are very few OSINT accounts that do actual IMINT work. Till they green light things remain skeptical. Many almost fell for the Srinagar airport fake images till Damien on X spent some time and debunked it.

This has been an old attitude of Indian civilian leadership of not being the first to attack. Fears of being branded the aggressor, being the larger nation. Hence focus has been to get Pakistan to attack us and then respond.

Even during the 1971 war, India waited for Operation Chengiz Khan from the PAF and then declared full-scale war against Pakistan.

Had PAF called it a day after the May 7th operation. IAF wouldn't have had much to show for except targeting terror camps.

Luckily, Pakistan took the bait and launched drone swarms on our airbases, giving the IAF a casus belli to target Pakistan's radars and PAF bases.

IO ops has always been Pakistani thing. Anyone deviating from the narrative faces threats or death.

For the Pak military loss of domestic narrative means losing power to civilian Govt and than a decade later hanging the civilian leader (Bhutto) and coming back to power. Hence Pak military will go on and on about it.

For Pak civilians any loss to Hindu Kafir is mentally unacceptable as it contradicts their religious indoctrination.

This why you will often see they exhibit mental gymnastics even on 1971 defeat.
