Operation Sindoor: India Strikes Terroist Camps Inside Pakitsan

Those persistent, unfounded claims about destroying the S‑400 suggest to me that the system hit them hard......... You don’t devote that much time & effort to something unless it genuinely unsettled you.
Most definitely. It has become a borderline habit to throw out something every week and see if it will stick. Frankly it is embarrassing as there was a lot of stuff said about it pre-conflict by PAF. It also shows that the system has served its purpose and also why the government has shown haste to bring the remaining into the fold.

But can a 5th gen aircraft truly become invisible to a multi-layered air defence? Certainly it can come much closer to launch its package but I doubt they can breach into the Indian airspace without being discovered. Especially when our air defence system is bound to get emboldened with time. I still think Pakistanis would play a bit safe and try to take out our AWACs and radar sites near the border from their side before trying to enter our airspace.
Stealth doesn't make the jet completely invisible, the detection range & time gonna be reduced, but the challenge is constantly tracking it, VHF radar's will be able to detect it, but it will not be enough for guiding the missile, for that we have to rely on our other assets for guiding the missile effectively, for the effective solutions the numbers of VHF & UHF radar's to be increased and integrated to indian IACCS, but detecting them in the mountains up north in Kashmir would be even more challenging,
We have to increase our awacs numbers, Netra mk2 is need of an hour, because VHF & UHF alone can't be able to guide the missile to hit it, we need layered network for bringing down the stealth jet,
And the PAF will definitely try to take out our radar assets & AWACS on initial strike with Long range BVR & standoff missiles

More information coming out of Indian strike 😎.... Slight mistake though Pakistan doesn't operate C-130 J but B, E & H variant.

According to people familiar with the matter and on the basis of action taken reports and damage assessment undertaken by the three services, there is digital evidence to conclude that the Indian Air Force (IAF) fighters, surface-to-air missile batteries and S-400 air defence system downed four Pakistani Chinese-made fighter jets and two big aircraft (possibly one C-130 J and one SAAB 2000 airborne early warning system) during Operation Sindoor. There are also indications, the people added, that two F-16 fighter aircraft may have been partly damaged during the IAF’s missile assault on 11 airbases, including those at Sargodha, Rafiqui, Jacobabad and Nur Khan (Chaklala, Rawalpindi). The reports indicate that India’s Rafale fighters, S-400 missile systems and M777 howitzers acquitted themselves well during the four-day conflict with the Russian air defence system taking three enemy aircraft

They also show that India destroyed one Chinese LY-80 fire radar, two AN TPQ-43 US-made automatic tracking radar and one fire unit of Chinese HQ-9 radar at Chaklala during the retaliatory strike on May 10. Intelligence inputs now suggest that Pakistan has four HQ-9 (the Chinese equivalent of the Russian S-300 air defence radars) instead of two originally estimated by national security planners. The Pakistani military used the Chinese version of PL -15 air to air missile which has a range of 180 km.There are also inputs that the Pakistanis, by mixing two fire units of 250-km range HQ 9 air defence system with two other 150-km range systems at Chaklala and Malir cantonment near Karachi, respectively, may have tried to catch the Indian Air Force by surprise.

The Action Taken Reports also show that IAF fired 19 BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles on Pakistan air bases and almost an equal number of French SCALP subsonic cruise missiles. The Pakistanis, in turn, fired CM-400 AKG air-launched supersonic missiles at Indian air bases using Chinese JF-17 fighters but these failed to do any damage. The Turkish built YIHA loitering ammunition that Pakistanis fired in large numbers were either jammed by the Indian electronic warfare suite, missed their targets, or were taken down by India’s robust air defence system. Even the FATAH-1 rockets fired by Pakistan were either off the mark or were intercepted by the Indian air defence systems.

HT learns that there is now adequate evidence that India’s first counter-terror strike on May 7 was a success as Markaz-e-Taiba (the LeT headquarters at Muridke) was hit by four to five Crystal Maze missiles, which show a small entry point but damage the facility within. The Jaish-e-Mohammed facility at Markaz-e-Subhan Allah was hit by 6 SCALP missiles launched from Rafale fighters and totally destroyed the terror factory through pin-pointed strike using bunker busting techniques. The US-made Excalibur ammunition used by M-777 howitzers of the Indian Army destroyed the tier 2 defences of the Pakistan Army across the LoC as did India’s Polish-made loitering extended range ammunition.

Centre has allowed inventory upgradation with longer-range loitering ammunition, artillery shells, kamikaze drones and beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles.

Even as national security planners and military chiefs celebrated one month of Operation Sindoor on Saturday evening, HT learns that the defence ministry has given the green signal to the three services to replenish inventory with longer-range loitering ammunition, artillery shells, kamikaze drones and beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles that out-range the Chinese missiles used by Pakistan during the four day high intensity skirmish.

The decision was taken on the basis of action taken reports and damage assessment undertaken by the three services. (ANI)

The Indian Air Force and Indian Navy used Israeli loitering ammunition to destroy terror camps in Occupied Kashmir on May 7.

Between the launch of the operation in the early hours of May 7 and the ceasefire on the evening of May 10, Indian forces bombed nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK and killed at least 100 terrorists, and the Indian Air Force struck targets at 13 Pakistani air bases and military installations.

On Tuesday, it emerged that India’s targeting of locations within Pakistan during the May 7-10 clash was more extensive than was previously known, with a Pakistani document acknowledging that Indian drones had struck locations ranging from Peshawar in the northwest to Hyderabad in the south.

Pakistan’s Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos, which was mounted in response to Operation Sindoor, “folded in eight hours” on May 10 belying Islamabad’s ambitious target of bringing India to its knees in 48 hours, chief of defence staff General Anil Chauhan said on Tuesday.

The action taken reports as well as the immediate emphasis on replenishment suggest that the Indian forces are aware, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly said, that Operation Sindoor isn’t over.

That was true about older gen VHF radars. Newer GaN based VHF radars like ADL's Surya VHF or DRDO's VHF radar, thanks to AI-enabled algorithms have the ability to not only detect VLO fighters from 200kms+ distance but also have the ability to relatively generate a weapons grade track.
for that we have to rely on our other assets for guiding the missile effectively, for the effective solutions the numbers of VHF & UHF radar's to be increased and integrated to indian IACCS, but detecting them in the mountains up north in Kashmir would be even more challenging,
That's the thing. It's not going to be only our VHF radars against PLAAF's J-20 or PAF's J-35 in a 'mano-a-mano' fashion. That concept is outdated now. The reality would be our OTH radars, BMD radars, VHF radars, our space based Radars/EO sensers our ground based EO sensors, our Airborne C&Cs, our ground based Passive Cohernt Target Locating Radars, all of them are going to tag together to generate such an accurate picture of the battlespace along with full quality weapons grade track that the enemy would find it hard to penetrate our airspace.

Stealth fighters are good enough to scare off 3rd world countries, but not a military superpower like India. Let the P O R K I E S come with their J-35s, our IADS would gleefully swat them out of the sky.

We have been preparing to thrash China since 2020. All the above is in the pipeline. Pak can do jack against us as we just showed. Real threat is facing China or fighting a 2-front war.

Beijing’s decision to fast-track the delivery of 30 J-35A stealth fighters to Pakistan has ignited a wave of backlash among Chinese citizens. The deal, reportedly offered at a 50% discount, is scheduled to begin in August 2025. If it proceeds, it would mark China’s first-ever export of a fifth-generation jet, as reported by Business Today.

It would still take them 2-3 years to fully deliver all the jets. Hope we expedite AMCA along with signing of Su-57MKI deal ASAP.

I'd say we need to invest in IRST tech big time to deal with this new threat.
- Dual band IRST - across MKI, MiG-29, Rafale, LCA Mk2 fleets.
- Podded IRST - for M2000, Jag and LCA Mk1. We should be looking at networked pods (similar to Legion/IRST-21) that can detect stealth targets via triangulation and potentially increase reaction time.
- Large turret mounted IRST sensors on AWACS, SIGINT, ISTAR and even LRMP ac with significantly greater range. The Chinese KJ-700 has a large nose mounted IRST in addition to its dorsal radome.
