How is it being cleared so quickly? The NGC program got DAC approval in 2022 and is still awaiting CCS approval. By the way, the P-17B program will cost 70,000 crore INR, not 57,000 crore.
They are probably existing design with little changes. NGC is not. This is the right way to go. Costs will also come down.
Other than MCMV, the other project that's been delayed quite a bit is LPD. The revised RfI was supposed to be out this year and we're almost in June. The cost may be a factor since these ships will be among the first in the IN to feature IEPS.
Udaygiri has been delivered to the Indian Navy, in a record time of 37 months from the date of launching.
