Imho, Indian government should use this opportunity to modify the NFU policy. This would send a clear signal to China. Something similar to a policy the UK and France have would be ideal.
Yes it's still very much possible, for hitting a ships in the ocean, first of all you need satellites, to detect the presence of ships & it's whereabouts in the region,
Second - you would need a capable radar to locate & track the ships, guide the missile to hit the target,
Third you need missiles Long enough to attack the ships with safe standout ranges,
Fourth- missiles if subsonic - stealth, longer ranges,
Drones- longer range loitering drones, Two Data Link or IIR seeker, can operate even it get's jammed need in big quantity,
Subsonic- sea skimming capabilities, longer range, not susceptible to ECCM,
Air assets-longer stand-off weapons, better BVR capabilities,
Drone boats-longer range, two way data link,

Brahmos has 900 KM range. Air launched version has 450 Km range. And the recent road mobile hypersonic LRAShM has 1500 KM range.

Actually, the suspension of IWT is very big measure.....the fight for end has started.
There is a reason India deploys MQ9B drone. It can drop sonobuoys. Finally India has long range Rocket mounted torpedo to take out submarines.
Trust me if any of these is underwater and sailing, A Kalveri class might be right behind it.
Sir, if we deploy Brahmos battery and air launched Brahmos in Gujarat, say near Dwarka, cannt we effectively blockade entire Pakistan ports and coast? Missile has a range of 900 KM.
Further we can deploy LRAShM to block even from deeper in Gujarat. 1500 KM minimum range means no ship will even bother coming near Pakistan's EEZ for the fear of being attacked.
India doesn't have a No first use policy..... What India has is No first use policy against non nuclear state.... Clarified by NSA long time back.
Advantage of naval blockade would be to force them fight on the seas where we have a better advantage if the war drags on. All we need to do is harass their ships forcing them to defend their assets and stretch their forces thin. On the other hand naval blockade might force the global powers to intervene and traffic flowing to bombay/gujarat might get affected.
Probably hitting the oil depots in their ports might be effective , it will cause serious dent to their economy.
