Pakistan Navy: News & Discussions

ER aka Albatross-NG is italian not UK unlike you said. Contract is through them. So, UK part is irrelevant.

UK is the main owner of the CAMM family. The CAMM-ER gives the Italians design authority. Like what FGFA was to India.

Regardless it's not French.

Which is the point. They had choice for both but choose western.

No. Western ship with Western systems + Chinese ship with Chinese systems.

That's how they are counterbalancing between the east and west.

The more important question is why Pakistan is going to such lengths to acquire short-range SAMs. Are Chinese SAMs not good enough for their needs?

Turkey is a NATO country, it's as simple as that, The HQ16 is the core of our 054A/B and army air defense brigades, and we will not let NATO countries touch it
Maybe Pakistan got a loan from the Middle East and had to buy weapons from Islamic State and they chose Turkey

I'll say this again and again. Pakistan is trying to have China and Turkey as their two weapon supplier and they are just trying to please both the sides with every deal. Not saying that this Turkey deal is bad or they are naive or something. Turkey also helps with the "Islamic Superpower" or "Islamic Brotherhood" tag (I don't have anything against Islam btw).

They are doing what India did in the 90s and 2000s but worse. They are not absorbing as fast technology as we have through our old acquisition and it doesn't seem like it will change anytime soon.

On the contrary, I think they are doing no useful things, they should not buy these at sixes and sevens boat, buy 36 aircraft H6K, carrying YJ12 enough threat to the west coast of India, in the purchase of 12 039 c, into four groups three submarines of wolves, hunting attempt to blockade the Indian navy
No matter how many frigates Pakistan buys, it will be difficult to defeat India, which has two aircraft carriers

Could be easily mistaken for a Kilo class SSK. Only visual difference is foreplane arrangement on the sail.

Rubin DB has likely sold Kilo class design rights to China.
