Cabinet clears ‘AGNIPATH’ scheme for recruitment of youth in the Armed Forces

Well can anyone confirm out of million soldiers how many are in combat roles and how many are in non combat roles. For combat roles we need regular soldier because if he get KIA we need support his family. However for non combat roles ToD soldier can be utilized with supervision by regular ones. IF we are able to achieve this balance than we will able to meet objectives of saving revenue without compromising the fighting force numbers..

This ghost of 'sarkari naukri' is haunting the youth of this nation. It will be better for the youngsters to come out of it as early as possible if they really want to do something for this country.

The issue is the youth don't have other job options.

There are two kinds of sarkari naukri, one is the 10th pass naukri and the other is the graduate naukri. Only the latter candidates have other options. The former only have sarkar or farm.

And the army is the only sector where they can retire at 35+ with a pension, which makes it the most sought after option for many parts of the country where development has only reached in a limited way.

Our manufacturing sector must triple in size if the Agniveer scheme is to work.

They are all essential. But not everybody needs to be experienced. Like how much experience do the 3 or 4 loaders need for an artillery gun? Most soldier work can also be done with just a year's worth of experience. Experience is mainly required in specialist roles like the gun commander, gun layer, forward observer, signals, engineer etc.

Mechanisation would remove the need for soldiers though. Like a towed gun needs at least 8 or 9 crew members, whereas a self-propelled gun needs only 3.

Lt col, air commodore and admiral level officers can been seen buying cheap old monk and other stuff from CSD canteen and selling at profitable price outside to others.

You want to renew command building or office buildings, contractors send gift to colonels and brigadiers.

Easily very easily brats of these military officers get into NDA or through IMA. Not a big deal.

Show me an order where family can use government cars , or helicopters for personal use.

Muh mat khulwao mera yahan

There is favoritism in military as well. Infact caste based grouping too. Any how this is how whole India is armed forces is not different from rest.
Having spent more than 18 years life in army background with family from both maternal and father side served in army, I have never seen or heard any officer selling army liquor to make some money. Yes there had been many instances where officer offer liquor as bribe to civilian to get his work done.

Regarding your allegation on command building or office building renovation its all being done via MES hence Infantry officer making money out of it is very rare.

Being Army brat myself for which I am proud off, I never made through SSB even after clearing NDA, IMA and OTA examination multiple times, it wasn't just only me, many of my other friends from army background never made through. So please stop making false allegation.

Lastly for use of government cars for family use, can you name any one organization whether government or private where organization cars are not used for family purpose. I am not supporting such practice but why single out only army for it just because there vehicle stands out from the rest!

In regards to favoritism/politics let me state quote one of senior" Politics start once your are more than two" accept it as universal truth and live with it.

Dissuasive deterrence is just words. There's a reason why we didn't cross IB in 1999. Without modern gear our armed forces is all but a burden. Unable to hold out against an even enemy.

I again urge you to go and read about the resources US needed to get to take care of Iraq. And mind it Iraq without an Airforce and a Navy.

And compare 1990 US led coalition vs 2020 IA and 1990 Iraqi force vs Pak Army.

Forget about China that's another level.

Just compare.

As for people wanting to join Army, 25% will still get permanent commision. 75% will still get preference in CAPFs, State Police Forces, and Railways.

The only person who will be dissatisfied is one who just wants a government job.
The entire veterans, including hard core modi Bhakts are against this. Goi is pursuing this only for reducing financial burden and not for modernisation.

My mom used to say this often, no none family man should become a pm, only a husband or a father will know the difficulties of running a family.

I should not say this, but again Gujrat having the least contributions to military recruitement, pm from that state may not be aware what our soldiers wants to say.
FYI, like Gujrat Maharashtra too have the least participation in military recruitement /absorption. Morarji Desai was from Mumbai, the one who screwed RAW operations in Pakistan & even he let Pakistan to develop nukes.

Oh yes, military people (those not drinking) sell the cheap liquor to those military people with heavy drinking habits.

What's happening, why burning trains & all.
Who is buring that?
Exemplary punishment given those who destroy public property. At least fine should be levied to restore destroyed items.

Seems like a group always ready to destroy things, no matter whatever is the cause.

If it were me, I ll bait some issue and target the criminals.. Restore public property with their personal wealth.

Need to install cctvs in train and usual places of attack.

“The liquor bottles found at his house were branded and expensive ones. He used to purchase them from the canteen at a price far below the market price and sell from his house at higher prices,”
The seizures were made during a joint raid by the police and Army Intelligence Unit sleuths

I can provide many links to my other allegations as well. People do not like me on this forum because I say the truth. And it seems you are just trying for the sake of writing without anything concrete.

A simple connection between Pappu's remand by ED and Muhammad remark protest and now this recruitment protest? 2nd June he was summoned, first violence happened on 2nd June in Kanpur and its continuing in different manifestations.

Those guys are just failures. "Doctors" and "post grads" without jobs when jobs are available for them are simply not worth hiring anywhere. Just degrees without any employable skills. They just aim for job security through sarkari naukri.

To me, the issue is more about the military itself than the temporary jawans.

When the poor are involved, the govt needs to bring the stakeholders into the discussion. They can't go around making unilateral changes.

But while protests were inevitable, this level of violence seems to be politically motivated.

What a idiotic take. The problem is man power management and resource allocation. Salary and pensions and eating up more and more percentage of total budget. More money won't solve the problem as these are cumulative over time.
First of all we are thinking that salary, pension & canteen facilities of military are a financial burden, morality of such discussion need a relook.

If you want modernise military , allocate more fund defense expenditure. Stop talking about lack of fund when we are not even spending 2% of your GDP for defence.

I dont know how a 4-6 weeks of training will make some one military personal, these type of untrained personals in force will reduce quality of our fighting force.

The pathetic perfomance Russia in Ukrain is due to the abundance of these type contractual fighters with Russian military . Not my word, people like them @randomradio @vstol Jockey @Hellfire said this.

lol, its bcos our economy is not growing as fast we want and the defence budget is not keeping up pace with it.

As a matter of fact if we keep the size of the military constant, salary & pension can be estimated for next 5-10 years and it is a known number there is no surprise here. As they cannot increase the capex budget they have decided to cut elsewhere. So next time the economy becomes worse the govt will have to cut more numbers as they need to keep the ratio of capex to running costs low and there will be no end to it.

Did the current govt one find day by accident discover that salary & pension is taking up major part of the budget ? Dint the self proclaimed patriotic boys know this would happen when they passed one rank one pension it will increase strain on budget? Guess what this comes from a party who are out to recover the lost lands whose ability even to maintain a military as before is now coming into question.

Of course they dont want to accept the fact that defence budget is not increasing as we want to. All of a sudden our boys in govt are concerned abt salary & pension taking up major part of the budget but these are expenses that are unavoidable. We can stop buying new equipment but salary & pension needs to be paid anyway there is no escape from that.

Next the govt will stop training activities like air sorties to save on cost, then switch off power in military bases, stop serving good....there will be no end to this nonsense of cost cutting.

The severance package under the Seva Nidhi scheme of 11.71 lakh without income tax and with 50 per cent of the amount contributed by the government, is barely adequate and only likely to meet minimum expectations. We should not begrudge a bigger package of 20 lakhs as it is a one-time expenditure.
