Pakistan Armed Forces - News & Discussions

It's interesting to note that Pakistan has bought a 2nd batch of Mi35. Meaning that the hinds are operating fine for them. If they need a platform to replace their AH1 helos, with US helos banned untill pakistan can pay in full, Turkish helos banned indirectly and Chinese helo bring a last resort.

Why not simply invest in the mi35 that seems to be working? Eventually for a fleet of 60 (if the sky is pink for them) or atleast 25-30 (realities according to budget) , why have 2 different types ?

Bangladesh is going for the Mi28. We know that Russians are ready to sell items (maybe not their top notch ones) to Pakistan for payments. Is Pakistan military in so much problems with cash that they are unable to go to the Russian shop ? Mi28 and Mi35 are better together than Mi35 and Z10.

Z-10ME

@randomradio seems like bat munchers are really irked and want to keep us distracted. Since Their frustration will only increase in coming yrs so I guess this free loading is just a starting.

What do u think will porkis be able to maintain these weapons without putting further strain on their Economy.

They had a edge over us in 155 caliber. But the problem was range. Their primary weapons M109 and M198 were outgunned by our guns in general.

And their best system, the Panter is actually heavy and cost prohibitive to be inducted in large numbers.

So solution?

For towed artillery China has been offloading it's reserves of copies of M30, D30 (122mm) and M46 (130mm) in large numbers.

While providing new built A100 Rocket artillery and SH15 SPH in the Mobile.
The SH15 comes at around 2 mil dollar a piece.

They're scheduled to get the DH-17 . That's what's more worrisome. The rest of their procurements , even their Navy which until the last decade resembled more of a coast guard with submarines & will see massive upgrades this decade , is still manageable at some Greater cost to us.

I don't think cost is the issue at all . China will subsidize these purchases. Post the scenario on the LAC , ever since we've started export of the Brahmos to ASEAN among other weapon systems , expect the gloves to come off. It's only going to get worse in the days ahead.

He is talking about maintanence.

It will be an issue for them. Big issue. However, it's good if we leave this topic for say 2024-25. By then many major American Systems will be retired and replaced by Chinese ones. Will discuss then.
If they're broke today , yet can afford all those purchases of big ticket items not just from China but Turkey & other nations as well , the notion that they'd face an issue in OPEX is faulty to say the least.

Their 2 main sources of supply are China & Turkey both of whom share excellent relations with them .

China's main aim as you well know is to equip Pakistan enough just to tie down significant resources of India knowing full well that come what may they'd never be able to prevail over us. Those N weapons are to prevent India from going full Mongol on Pakistan.

As far as the rest of their plan is concerned that's been set into motion since 2020.

Pakistan is a Military sinkhole so no money Shortage for arms purchase they will gladly accept anything thrown at them. Their own selected PM Niazi accepted that.

But this arms Race with dog shit Economy is unsustainable.
