Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur has developed laboratory prototypes of High
Fidelity Thermal Target System (HF-TTS) with two variants e.g. Day Time TTS
(D-TTS) and Night Time TTS (D-TTS). The D-TTS consists of a combination of
specially designed electrically powered Thermal Panels and passive Water
Jackets, whereas the N-TTS solely consists of Thermal Panels only. Now
laboratory is planning to develop a 3D Thermal Target System (3D-TTS)
representing thermalsignaturesof a military vehicle in front, broad, rear and top
side views asa single entity. This 3D-TTS is also a combination ofthermal panels
and water jackets. The requirementis for the developmentof an engineering
prototype of 3D-TTS suitable for field use based on DLJ's inputs.

ADA is continuing work on Ram Air Turbines (RATs). RATs were originally used on aircrafts to generate electrical power in case the main alternator fails & for aero braking. These days there in no need for that as alternators have become very reliable. Nowadays RATs are used by aircraft accessories like EW pods, EO/RF targeting pods etc. to power themselves independently.

This becomes a need especially when you are developing an aircraft customized for the EW role. The aircraft carries many powerful pods & thus the aircraft's alternators alone can't power them all. Therefore you need RATs on the EW pods like he AN/ALQ-99 on the Growler.

ADA is making a EW focused version of the Tejas Mk1A. That's why they are studying RATs. These are the configurations studied:

Lithium ion battery pack for AUV.
View attachment 21193
Look at its weight I guess overall weight of AUV will be 10-12 ton. @Gautam
The battery alone is 3.45 tons ?!?! The diameter of the AUV is 1000 mm ! Wow this is a massive AUV. Would give us some long range long endurance under sea surveillance capability.

Wonder if the AUV is a new design or a enlarged version of an old design. The dimensions make it impossible to be launched from torpedo tubes. Must be ship based.
