Bullet train: Less than 20 per cent of Bullet train components will be Japanese: Govt

Flights take 1 hour 5 minutes. If non stop bullet trains can take 2 hours and half to quarter of the price, it is a great deal.

Flights take 1 hr. But u need to reach 1.5 hrs before departure. Add another 30 mins to come out of airport. So total time is at least 3 hrs.

The biggest benefit of bullet trains are that the trains run on electricity which is produced from Indian coal. The flights run on imported oil. So, bullet trains are not subjected to fluctuation of global oil prices. As oil prices soar in the future, many flights will be too costly. Bullet train will appear very cheap then. India actually needs more bullet trains to replace airplanes

I think the main advantage is for the people who will get access from these 12 stations. Airports are not always preferable…mainly who are in the middle of both the cities or far from both the airports. These small cities also create space for new business center out of Mumbai city and another advantage is the frequency at which bullet trains will run.

Not going to happen in near future. Fednavis is fooling people in the state. At best he can get an extension till Pune. Center is not going to fund more than one route in a state.

There are at least 5-6 routes in the feasablity study phase. Nagpur-Mumbai is not one of them. Next in line would be Chennai-Bangalore or Delhi- Chandigarh.

While as of date you are right, Nagpur may see improvements rapidly.

Nitin Gadkari - Constituency Nagpur
Devendra Fadnavis - Born in Nagpur. Constituency Nagpur. One of the proponents for dividing Maharashtra before becoming CM.
RSS HQ - Nagpur. Both of the above plus our PM are RSS members.

Also, TCS now has a global hub being setup in Nagpur.

While all the above are true , I'm still skeptical about a bullet train connecting both Bombay & Nagpur unless there's one being extended to Calcutta with Nagpur being a stop en route .
