Exhaustive military history of the Arab victories over the two superpowers of their age - The Persians & The Byzantines both of whom were weakened by decades of wars against each other, pandemics, famines due to pestilence, drought, civil wars etc.
Kings & Generals - the channel presenting this particular episode is noted not only for accurate history but also detailed story telling backed up by rich animation & graphics detailing the military formations & battle set pieces.
I'm a fan of both - the subject of Arab conquests & Kings & Generals. When you have both come together to present you with what you've could only have dreamed of it's a real treat & a gift to treasure for a long long time.
Do check it out - all those who appreciate history & military history. You won't be disappointed.
This should definitely interest you. The campaigns of Khalid bin Walid & Sa'ad bin Abi Waqqas. @Austerlitz
P. S - the dates in the title of the documentary on you tube for the campaigns are erroneous. It states 602-636 CE. The first battles of the Arabs with either parties began in the late 620's or early 630's as per revisionist & extent historical sources respectively .
