US - China Diplomatic Ties : News, Updates, Analysis & Discussions

This is precisely why many East Asian countries were apprehensive about a Biden administration & tolerated Trump inspite of Trump being well Trump.

Sign of things to come. @Ginvincible
Of course. Every unbiased geopolitical analyst worth their salt knew the Biden administration would be way more lenient/dovish on China. Everyone knew that at best, Biden would go for more "elegant" approaches like TPP and the like to form trade blocs excluding China; and at worst, Biden would just return to normal and act like China doesn't exist. The rhetoric against them, and many of the trade measures would definitely end though.

The issue with how divisive politics has become is that anything done by one side has to be opposed as vociferously as possible by the other. Trump calling out China and taking measures against them really was a good thing in the long term for the US (especially considering how mum on the issue the past administrations had been), but because of the way politics are, the Left has to oppose it. The opposition ranges from "deal with China in a way as to correct their behaviour" to "ignore anything China does because there's a lot of money to be made" and even "China is right, the future is Chinese".

Every thing is getting rolled back. I would not be surprised if huawei makes a come back. WHO virtually got away by giving clean chit to china while US did nothing.
Next 4 years we will just see US politics focus more internally on immigration , climate & human rights. Foreign policy will have more words and less substance. Chinese will be laughing their *censored* off, they might give biden some concessions and claw back into the game.

We ought to be listening more to jewboy here given his advancing age. Don't know when he may croak but his last words would definitely be something to the effect of a rapprochement with CCP, at any cost. Poor man can already forsee everyone from his peers , academics, TT specialists, journalists & ordinary Americans take a dump on his legacy. He must be absolutely terrified.

Interview with The Bandicoot. Here's the shorter version where Kissinger tries his best to save his tattered legacy on China helped by a fawning interviewer who instead of hauling him over the coals is busy slapping his wrists pussy footing around him giving him the opportunity to spin tall stories & get out of jail.

Here's the long version . The podcast.
