Rafale DH/EH of Indian Air Force : News and Discussions

Ridiculous amount of attention being given in the media.
Hope the senior iaf and political leaders are not on hand to receive the planes and have photo ops.
Looks so ameuterish.

It reminds us of the Vested Interests and Lobbies who were hell bent on scuttling the deal through the Supreme Court

Defence used to keep the civilians at a arms length before. Now everything is so accessible that the planes are being tracked to their bases.
Our chiefs are giving interviews and even commanders are on tv giving interviews.
Turning everything into a bloody tamasha.

Indians are EMOTIONAL people :ROFLMAO:

Jokes apart , the present Chinese stand off AND the real possibility of a Two Front War has made it a much Bigger Moment ; ie if there was a No standoff
Then it would not have attracted such attention

Agree , pathetic to watch people getting so excited for an import while Tejas deal lingers on and no one seems to care a bit

It should be like that. Public pressure should be there for better and faster defence procurements. There should be questions on why is there a shortage of fighter, submarines? or Why does a single fighter costs Rs 1800 cr?

Service chiefs should be able to justify their requirements and big-ticket procurements. Why does the navy need its own airforce and Rs 50,000 cr aircraft carrier? What purpose does it serve in a conflict?. The narrative shouldn't be run paid out journalists who write puff pieces daily for Boeing to Dassault.

When there is a successful pragmatic procurement like rafale. The political class should be able to reap the benefits. Do a flypast or a circus i don't care as long as our forces get to use it.

You can't compare the two.
Rafale is far more potent than Tejas, even if you need a lot of the latest for air defense.

becuase population is more educated, a good image of military makes it easy for population to support with taxes. Not like the sikulars below who kept Indians uneducated for 70 years so that they could route money only where they could scam.

😅😅😅😅
Why 5?
Only one Rafale is enough.
Also why shoot down just 10 F-16?
The "Mahaan" Rafale must shoot down 30 with one bullet.

JF 17 Block-1

1) no hot refuelling, so has to shutdown engines for 45 mins before refueling on ground
2) no mid-air refuelling so limited in range and has to return to base to top up

Basically for every 1 hour it will spend in air, it spends 3 on ground. With this kind of an AF, why should it be so difficult?

IAF would be thinking that now they rule the world. :ROFLMAO:
Thaamo ....they are just 5. Can handle Pakistan completely but not 2 front with just 5

IAF was vocal about it when they said they need 200+ to actually fight both Pak and China.

FAF4063 already over Gujarat and IL76 trailing it.
FAF4063 (a330 MRTT) is over the Indian Ocean at the moment. It is the one that brings the technical and medical teams dedicated to covid management to Ambala to ensure that Indian personnel do not bring the virus back.

It took off from istres, made circles over Corsica, then Mediteranean off Turkey, passing through Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the Persian Gulf, the UAE, and now it's off Pakistan. 41,000 feet, 422 knots.

Then we'll see if he's accompanied or not... It would be a welcome turnaround, but it would still make for a long convoy for a first flight, even if Trappier seems impressed by the professionalism of the Indians who apparently sent some very serious "mustaches", like at the time of the Mirage 2000 with the Sikh pilots. They are said to have mastered the Rafale's combat system very well.

I am extremely impressed by the incredible efficiency and unwavering determination shown by the Indian Air Force and the Indian Ministry of Defence, despite an unprecedented global health crisis, to quickly take ownership of the various aspects of the Rafale in order to strengthen India's sovereignty and contribute to the protection and security of the Indian people,"
said Éric Trappier on this occasion.

"This new major step reaffirms our total commitment to meet the needs of the Indian Air Force for the decades to come and to be part of India's ambitious vision for the future,"
added the President of Dassault Aviation.

One of France's A330 MRTTs will bring to India medical equipment [70 respirators and 100,000 test kits] to combat the covid-19 epidemic, as well as a team of experts from the Army Health Service [SSA].

"France is fully mobilized alongside India. I am proud that Rafale deliveries are starting, embodying the strength of our strategic partnership. Moreover, the exchange of best practices between armed forces on the management of the Covid will be beneficial to all"
, said Florence Parly, Minister of the Armed Forces.
