A nuclear strike is a mission that mobilises many aircraft. The strike may involve several targets, in which case there must be a synchronization that results in simultaneous nuclear explosions so that there is no advance notice for some of them.

Such a strike must not fail, so there are many conventional aircraft destroying or neutralising the opponent's defences to facilitate the penetration of the aircraft carrying the nuclear payload. But in the end, if the opposing forces are not completely eliminated, the Rafale must penetrate to fire its missile, and it must do so at the scheduled time.

Targets can be deep in enemy territory, and that is why, despite the range of the ASMP-A, the Rafale needs a significant penetration capability.
I always wonder this. How come France has ASMP-A as a weapon of choice for "just before strategic" weapons since 1987. This system is remarkably light : less than 900 KG. It has a remarkable range 300-400 KM and has a payload of about 300 KG. A comparable project by India in 2010s ie Brahmos Air Launched missile weighs 2500 KG. For that matter, its upgrade will be about 1500 KG and that is supposed to be "Next Generation". What is fundamentally keeping Brahmos so heavy?

ASMP is stato ==> it doesn't need to carry oxygene so total mass is divided by two.

Αιγυπτιακή Αεροπορία: Όταν τα Rafale “τύφλωσαν” τα Su-35 με το Spectra

Egyptian Air Force: when the Rafale "blinded" the Su-35 with the Spectra

The impressive capabilities of the French Rafale F3R fighter are being praised by the Egyptians, according to a report on the globaldefensecorp website.

According to the website, the Egyptians are so pleased with the aircraft's performance that if the country's financial situation allows it, they intend to buy an additional 18 to 36 new fighters after recently ordering 30 Rafale F4s for 4.5 billion.

What really impressed the Egyptians is the capabilities of the French fighter's Spectra electronic warfare system to counteract the radar of the Russian Su-35 fighter which the Egyptian Air Force also uses. The French electronic warfare system succeeded in exercises conducted between the Rafale F3R and the Su-35 to neutralize the BAR-type radar with AESA technology when the latter tried to attack the French fighters with the advantage of surprise.

In addition, the French fighters demonstrated outstanding capabilities to transmit, exchange and distribute information to other fighters and operational platforms with the data link system that the Rafale F3R has to the control centres on the ground. In this way, the Western-built fighters were able to communicate with the Russian-built aircraft of the Egyptian Air Force, helping to increase interoperability between aircraft of different design philosophies and equipment. For these and a number of other reasons, the Egyptian Air Force is keen to buy more Rafale aircraft, making it the second largest user of the French fighter.

Very intersting news there . Apparently this order is being financed by a 10 yr loan . Who's extending this loan ? Is Dassault doing it or the Government of France ?

Secondly , given Egypt flies fighters procured from around the world , is Dassault & by extension the Government of France / Armee de l'Air privy to the radar signature & the footprint of all the fighters in the Egyptian Air Force's inventory namely the Su-35 so as to be filed within the library of SPECTRA to develop adequate solutions ?

Any information on these developments ?

Spectra's library problem is highly overrated. The Rafale is capable of analysing enemy radar signals itself and updating its library. The Americans realised this during the red flag exercises and instructed their aircraft to use only the training modes when a Rafale was present.
In real combat with aircraft using unknown radar modes, it is likely that these modes would be detected at long range, analysed by SPECTRA, for intelligent use at shorter range.

We need to see how well we will be able to integrate the Rafale with our existing ecosystem with the new BNET. I'm hoping aircraft will be able to share data directly instead of having to go through a node.
Does that mean it will be able to take detection picture and transfer the data to tejas and the mki's??
