Pralay and Shaurya: Conventional Strike Surface-to-Surface Missiles

Russia is using about 100 missiles per day .. For any retaliation.

In a similar situation, we could be using more missiles than that per day..

350 missiles will be over in 2 or 3 days ..

More tranches in waiting?

Pralay is written on the missile and then there is a note saying Shaurya.
Same dia like k15, shaurya so probably the same TEL, canister used? R&DE involved so its the ground launcher system that is what they wanted to show as their share of work, not the actual missile? Just my guess.

I said earlier when members were questioning the first order of 120 units that we'll end up ordering Pralay in thousands. Have patience. Better versions with more range and other improvements are in the pipeline. Just like Brahmos, we'll continue to improve and order Pralay. Period.

Because both are the same minus booster.
it would probably take more than 2-3 days to simply deliver those 350 articles to the front, and loading/unloading the vehicles after. During even full blown war it will be max 3-4 volley per day at a stretch across a large front, mainly by IAF, not army arti.
By Rocket Force! And they would be trained to launch much more than 2 or 3 volley per day:)

'Pralay' is a 350-500 km short-range, surface-to-surface missile with a payload capacity of 500-1,000 kg. The solid-fuel, battlefield missile is based on the Prithvi Defence Vehicle.

Somehow I think the Odisha report specs above are more accurate. That was what a DRDO scientist guy said in an interview with Bharat tak during defexpo, sadly the interview was removed from youtube later.

This is most likely for the 700kg class warhead related work. There are 2 different sizes, 350kg & 700kg ones, plus cluster ammo warhead.
I guess even if the missile was designed for a ton class payload, it could use the extra leftover for decent range increase given its burn rate is much slower compared to the predecessor it is derived from.
Kind of irritated about Shaurya/k-15 though, they could have tried making one aeroballistic version with same brahmos 2.5 ton class spec & miniaturisation suitable for su30. But no, projects only get sanctioned if MoD clears & even then half do not get past TD stage.

DAC approval means jackshit i doubt they have even got CCS approval. Our armed forces are not a serious fighting force but a bunch of professional dalals & pension khor.
Israel's damage after Iran attack is miniscule to zero. Says everything about long range rocket force, you need airforce to inflict un parallel damages to enemy, not rocket force.

The bean counting bureaucrats also share the blame. They can't tell an MBRL apart from a BM and they often have the final say on what should purchased and how much.

They won't allow lateral entry of domain experts from industry or academia and won't make any efforts to sit with the armed forces, do an analysis of alternatives, help prioritise acquisitions and make funding available.

Military also won't allow any lateral entry, i am not asking for the fighting personal arena. Atleast when comes to the selection of weapons, maitainance etc.
