In an unsettling evidence of what appears to be a covert infiltration of the ISIS' ideology in the country, an India Today investigation has found several madrasas in Kerala teaching the theo-fascist variety of Islam.

For centuries, madrasas in the subcontinent have been the fountainheads of peace and love as embodied the holy Qur'an.

But India Today's probe discovered several of them down south in Kerala now preaching Wahabism, a Saudi-sponsored creed of extremist Islam linked to global terror.

Aided by hawala funding from petrodollar-rich Gulf countries, these seminaries were found to be indoctrinating young impressionable minds with what has been the ISIS' wicked goal to establish a global caliphate through a world-wide war.

"There's a problem if we talk about a caliphate in public. There are many Hindu people around. If we speak about Khilafat (caliphate), the Hindus would call us ISIS men. So, we are not direct. We put it in the hearts of children bit by bit," confessed Mohd. Bashir, joint secretary of a madrasa run by the Karuna Charitable Trust at
Pullorammal in Kozhikode district.

'WE SHARE THIS WITH THE CHILDREN BIT BY BIT'

Crushed by US-backed international forces last year, the ISIS' ultimate ambition had been to cover all of the earth through an apocalyptic war against disbelievers.
But India Today observed an ominous manifestation of the same ideology in non-descript madrasas like that of Bashir's in Kerala.

"Caliphate is the basis. It's the basic for the children. Only then will there be a caliphate," he declared. "The base is required. It's there in our hearts. We share this with the children bit by bit. There's no rush. A caliphate is not built in a day."

Preaching of radical Islam is not limited to one centre in Kerala, India Today's investigation found.

Several other madrasas were working overtime to produce more and more of men like controversial Islamic televangelist Zakir Naiks, now a proclaimed offender.

Abdul Malik, who runs his madrasa in Karanthur, admitted that Naik videos were shown regularly to young children at his centre.

"Each and every person knows who Zakir Naik is. Here we show Zakir Naik inviting ladies and other religious groups to Islam. Then they are seen accepting Islam in video clippings," said Manik, head of Karanthur's Islamic Centre.

FUNDING FROM UNKNOWN DONORS

India Today's investigation also found such madrasas were mostly funded by unknown donors in Gulf states.
Both Bashir and Manik acknowledged receiving financial support from the Arab world through underground hawala channels.

"It's difficult through banks. It's done via hundi (hawala)," Bashir confessed.
Convinced that India Today undercover reporters were potential financiers from the Middle East, he solicited Rs 50 lakh, saying cash deliveries would be executed without difficulty via hawala networks.

"So you want Rs 50 lakh from us?" asked the reporter.

"For now, Rs 50 lakh. Inshallah!" Bashir replied.

"Wouldn't it be difficult for your man, your agent to send such a big amount?" the reporter probed.

"He'll send it (in instalments of) 25-25 (lakh)," the madrasa official answered.

On his part, Malik revealed the global scale of the nexus between hawala operators and radical madrasas like his.

"A number of brothers are abroad in different countries," Malik said. "Black money here means what we call hundi. Hundi means if you give money there, then some agencies will directly give money here. So, we collected (it) for the construction of the building and all these things. Our majority of the funds comes from abroad," he explained.
Transactions of crores, Malik disclosed, were carried out every day the same way for various madrasas in Kerala.

Abdul Gaffar, an administrator of Koyilandy's Markazul Jamia Madrasa, said his centre was financed by several countries from across the Gulf region.

"Where are you getting these funds from?" the reporter asked.

"From everywhere. Such as from Dubai, Saudi, Oman, Qatar. From everywhere. It comes regularly," Gaffar said.

His hawala operation is based at Deira in Dubai in order to route funds from other Gulf states to his madrasa in Kerala.

"So, if the money is delivered in Dubai, will you have it sent to India for your madrasa?" asked the reporter.

"It will be definitely done, 100 percent," Gaffar replied.

REACTIONS

CPM leader S R Pillai told India Today that his party would "gather all details (on the expose) and take a call on it."

BJP Kerala president K Rajashekharan said, "Though not all madrasas are like this, some institutions are seen to have affinity to extremist organisations."

"The revelations made in the report are shocking," he added. "The madrasas are indoctrinating young minds to extremism...I'm really concerned how these children will be moulded in the future."

Exposed: Kerala madrasas teaching Wahabism, Saudi-sponsored creed linked to terror

Future looks frightening. India should act soon against these illegal institutions or else this idea of caliphate will engulf this country and set us on the path of destruction.

Its impossible to monitor each and everyone. It needed a indiatoday reporter to break the story. Surely must be known by other locals. But not one bothers to make it public. Its a snake that won't bite them.

Appears to me, for Islamic terrorism cases, collective punishment must be instituted. This is a slow process , surely observable by the near and dear.

Muslim Blockade of Narayana Temple in Kalpakanchery, Malappuram, Kerala

In Kashmir, when one fine Friday afternoon calls for Jihad against Kafirs were made from religious places, the whole of Bharat was caught napping. Kashmiri Pandits suffered in an allegedly secular Bharat, with their temples desecrated, houses destroyed, lands usurped, women raped and unspeakable atrocities against a section of population whose only crime was that they were Hindus.

Back then people depended on newspapers and Doordarshan for news, and if they didn’t cover an event , the event simply had not happened for the wide majority of masses. The atrocities on Pandits were largely censored by the press, and also the despicable cruelty in the name of Jihad. Tragically, this censorship on crimes against Hindus continues to this day, as can be gauged from the fact that this horrific crime in Amravati, Maharashtra that happened a few days ago has still not been covered in any national media.

After 25 years of Jihad in Kashmir, another state is going the Kashmir way. This time its Kerala where minorities Christians and Muslims constitute more than half of the Kerala population. Worse is the situation in Northern Kerala often termed as Malabar.

What if tomorrow a group of Hindus encroached the land of a mosque, blocked the way to the mosque and don’t allow Muslims to offer Friday prayers or the Namaz five times a day. Needless to say, the entire region would have faced riots and also the persons who blocked the way to mosque would be in jail, if not already subjected to beheading by the believers.

To know what is the real situation on ground, come to Muslim majority district of Malappuram in Kerala. Here there is a 1000 year old Sankara Narayana temple, in Kalpakancherry in Tirur Taluk. The temple owns 34 cents of land. The temple is in ruins having suffered the wrath of believers in 1921 and subsequent riots against Hindus. Hamsakutty, a Muslim who lives near the temple claims that 30 of the 34 cents of the temple land is his. And to seize the property, he along with others constructed a fence and blocked entry of Hindus for worship to the temple.

Photo of fence built by Muslims to block way to Narayana temple
What happened next? Actually nothing, until Kshethra Bhumi Samrakshana Vedhi (KBSV) entered the scene with one devotee calling KBSV’s Vice Chairman Ratnakaran requesting help. The next day Ratnakaran along with other KBSV activists visited the scene and made local enquires on the same.

It was very clear that the Muslim who was blocking the way to the temple had support of Muslim organisations like Muslim League, as well as Jihadi outfits in the region. Also, every bureaucrat who had a say in the matter was siding with the encroacher. Vice Chairman Ratnakaran then moved legally on all available forums and held meetings with the District Collector, Police Superintendant and also other revenue officials. It was made clear that the authorities will be made responsible for any law and order situation if they allow this assault on Hindu right to religious freedom.

On 16.7.2016, the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) held a meeting with all parties including Hamsakutty. Religious fanatics were of the view that they can only confirm any decision in the meeting after discussing with the local mosque committee. It was objected to by Hindus as a mosque committee can’t decide on matter of blocking of a Hindu temple.

Finally RDO issued orders allowing temporary relief for Hindus. Hindus are allowed entry and prayers inside Narayana temple for 30 days, after which a final order will be pronounced on the matter.

This is indeed a success for Kerala Hindus, as Malappuram is a district where many Hindu organisations prefer to placate and compromise with Jihadis, rather than take them head on. Vice Chairman Ratnakaran of KBSV exhorted Hindus of Malappuram to be brave and protect Hindu Dharma and their right to religious worship.

Due thanks to the eminent stutterer na na namboodiripad for acceding to the demand of the Moplahs and creating a Muslim majority district .While the Hindu community out there is a heterogeneous mixture of castes and ideologies touting itself as progressive , by and large , the religion of the peaceful are far more homogenous building up the power structure along with other paraphernalia brick by brick .

Its actually funny . Reminds me of an old panchatantra tale of a Brahmin being conveyed by a rickety boat across a river with a storm gathering above , belittling the rest of the passengers by boasting about his extensive academic and extra curricular knowledge adding at the end of each sentence to prove his superiority - Do you know this ? Have you ever heard this ? - and when confronted by the silent blank nods of the rest laughed at them and added - A quarter of your life is wasted .

This continued till he asked a few more questions only to be met by similar blank stares of the rustics and a consequent haughty comeback by the Brahmin - three fourths of your life is wasted . By this time the gathering storm broke upon the river and the passengers decided to abandon the rickety boat and swim to shore. The boatman happened to ask the Brahmin - do you know swimming ? The Brahmin replied - no . The boatman answered with a sneer - your whole life is wasted .

You pose this question of demographics to most Malayali Hindus in Kerala and you'd be met by sneers of how progressive their state is , various indices touting the socio economic well being of the denizens of God's own country ,how there's no space for Hindutva and all that blah , the underbelly being effectively concealed.

The boatman's punchline is awaited .

I have no problem with ANY one being in majority or minority so long as they do no impinge on others.
I love the indonesian Muslim majority country where their culture is hinduism and their religion is Islam.
Pardon me - but I have been bought up with the culture where we respect every culture and everyones belief. But that does not mean I have to respect a belief that disrespects everyone elses but theirs.
now - please dont jump to the conclusion that I believe all muslims are like that. but the OP clearly states that there is a serious threat of such happenings in the state of kerala.

as for me - I am bordering on Atheism but I am very proud of being an Indian. the cultural ethos of our country make sure we tolerate, work with, respect and finally come to love - so many differences in language, dialect, food, culture and religion. any one particular strain of the above mixture, if it threatens to disturb the above - be in hard core hidutva (calling for tearing down the taj Mahal because it was Tejo Mahalaya) or loose tongued Muslim MLAs (the younger owaisi calling Lakshmi, saraswati "manhoos naam") propogating hatred of everything non-Muslim.

BJP-RSS usual gimmicks to religiously polarize people, will not work in Kerala

Yes. We do. And we prepare traditional (naadan) beef curry with tender beef pieces and thick gravy which has Ginger, Garlic, Pepper, Chilly, Coriander, Cardamom, Fennel, Cinnamon and is garnished with thin long fried Coconut pieces. It's Godly.

For Keralite Hindus mummy is yummy. :giggle:

I've never really agreed with the BJP's beef politics, but Keralite Hindus who think it's funny to taunt Hindus from other parts of India about beef are being quite naive. At the end of the day, more than what anybody eats, it's about standing with your own. Look at how united Muslims are, especially in Kerala. Look at how they exercise power and influence as a single homogenous group, and how they treat all conflicts as clashes of civilization between themselves and all other religious/cultural groups. Do you think they're gonna differentiate between Marxist/"Secular"/Beef-Eating Hindus and regular Hindus when push comes to shove (whether from Kerala or outside Kerala)?

Do people still not understand the mindset of Muslim populations and how they band together, steadily grow their numbers, and exercise authority disproportionate to their numbers- verging on and sometimes surpassing "dadagiri?" Are countless historical examples and recent examples of "migrant" and "refugee" behavior in Europe not enough to illustrate how Muslims deal with fragmented native populations who fail to unite and are busy wearing blinkers thinking that their Muslim counterparts share their secular, progressive values?

I'm afraid that those who are confident of their and their state's secularism, and mock their fellow Hindus are unwittingly making similar mistakes to the liberals and leftists here in the West who want to import hordes of lightly vetted refugees - and then act surprised when those refugees display completely different behaviors and cultural "values." The only difference is that in the case of Kerala, it's not about importing a new population, but dealing with the one that already exists.

I never intended to insult or taunt anyone, it seems it is very sensitive topic. But people should understand the ground reality, world cannot run on emotions and culture. Don't drag us progressive Hindus to stone age. Anyone with common sense knows that once a cattle stops giving milk it becomes a financial burden. Because of these orthodox food habits poor Hindu children are becoming malnutrition-ed and stunted.

All these beef politics is all about business. India is the largest beef exporter. Near Kanpur there is a huge leather cluster, check who owns it.
Central govt's green signal to Sandila mega leather cluster - Times of India

Animal parts are used to make Gelatine, check who are the owners. Today the so called gau rakshaks have taken over cattle transport business and are supplying cows to Bangladesh.

Instead of all this going to Bangladesh, all this food should go to hungry stomachs of Indian children.

What's interesting is the extent to which MSM has downplayed it . Let's also include feminazis and traditional Hindu baiters like Nivedita Menon of JNU infamy too . Why do I mention this? There was this little incident of Akhila alias "Hadiya ." The bias begins with the MSM reporting her name - ""Hadiya" not her name which she carried for the first 20-22 years of her life or not even an - Akhila alias " Hadiya" to at least maintain a modicum of neutrality . Absolutely, there's no doubt that the media selectively frames these things - sometimes completely spinning stories 180 degrees in the process. That's why, even with how loud, aggressive and occasionally, plainly biased it is; I'm glad there are channels like Republic TV because for far too long, the news in India has been held hostage to the left (the famous "Lutyens Media") - who have had full freedom to shape narratives, perceptions and discourse in any way they saw fit, often at the cost of the truth, and frequently in order to serve the agendas of a specific political party or ideological stream.

Unfortunately , opinion makers and public opinion seem to be following the oscillations of a pendulum here - from extreme left to extreme right and on and on before the pendulum comes to rest.

So be it . I'm not complaining .

I'd personally favor an extended period of centrist consistency. Hopefully someday it'll be possible.

All I can observe here is wilfully ignoring news, because its apparently brought by a media with vested interests. All sides refuse to take news brought by another as credible. There can be no rebalancing by discussion(basis of democracy) when this is the case. The conspiracy theory psyche has cottoned on.
Now, no discussion of facts can convince someone to change their mind. Only the truth violently hitting their lives has a chance to change minds.

‘Forcibly converted’ Kerala woman says husband planned to sell her as sex slave to IS | india-news | Hindustan Times

In my naivete earlier , I used to consider these to be oversights or lazy journalism . Perhaps you'd like to voice your opinion @RATHORE

Your naivete continues.

The woman is a major. It is her wish what she chooses to believe, her wish what name she wishes to bear, and her wish whom she wishes to marry.

Not yours. Not the court's.
