You can't become a military superpower if you are reliant on imports. Modi ji is doing the right thing by trying to develop our indigenous defense capability. As far as air power is concerned, once we crack our desi aero turbofan engine, we'll become 100% self-reliant. That's the bottomline that GOI is trying to achieve.

Because they moved on to a much better missile in PL-15. It made PL-12 redundant.
