Why?
IN don't want it, no?
It is an experiemce and technology gaining exercise. The technology of carrier based landing so acquird will be used in Tejas MK2. Similarly, the Tejas MK1A is also delayed to get the best of avionics and weapons integration so that the work load of Tejas MK2 development goes to just changing the dimensions and corresponding fly by wire while all other subsystems remain same

highly unlikely we IN will opt for single engine fighter. But the project gives us all kinds of tech- land/ take off on carrier deck, arrester hook system development, automated take off, 'hardening' of landing gear an so on. Excellent learning for us. Also when we develop naval drones....

Splendid video of the Naval Tejas making an arrested landing for the first time at the Shore Based Test Facility in Goa. If these tests work out, the Naval Tejas will be headed for the deck of the carrier INS Vikramaditya for the first time. https://t.co/JuQUZTcqFw Vishnu Som on Twitter ( )
