This article is highly concerning, China aims to be poking India in the cyber and information domains. We seemed to have handled information warfare decently in Sindhoor by spamming so many stories the enemy had difficulty in gaining awareness. But how does such a tactic stand against China? Moreover some people here said we are actually capable in the cyberspace domain and we have covert cyberwarfare capabilities.
@randomradio @Rajput Lion @Parthu @Saaho what are these capabilities? How capable are we wtr to cyberwarfare? Can we defend ourselves infrastructure currently from massive Chinese cyber attacks?
We're actually blessed to have as our enemies older iron brother China & their younger iron brother Paxtan. While the latter suffers from generations of in breeding China suffers from the arrogance of hubris.
Why do I say this ? Coz both countries confuse tactics for strategy. If Paxtan didn't execute 26/11 we'd still be fast asleep irrespective the IN , ICG & intelligence agencies sounding the alarm for BA ( Hons ) in Eng Literature babooos would be fast asleep at the wheel & their SSC fail dhoti clad masters would be busy in winning state & central elections leaving such weighty matters to the babooos.
But China's China when it comes to dealing with India . They enacted Doklam & later Galwan rousing our foreign policy establishment from deep slumber & somewhere in between this cyber attack.
To prove we're not exactly their brother in arm we need to do whatever is necessary to nullify such attacks & launch counter attacks. Are we doing this ? I've no clue but just to give you lot a clue , sometime back I saw photographs of Hikvision CCTV cameras in the control rooms of the IN , N power stations etc shared by a Chinese member in another forum.
Till date I don't see any movement in the public domain seeking to change that & these are only the ones which have brought to our notice as it's in the public domain. Who knows how far & deep these systems have been installed ?!
See China's best students join the bureaucracy / government . Has been an old & ancient tradition with them . The rest join the private sector . It's the exact opposite in our case & then there's affirmative action to consider as well as what K Subramanyam , father of S Jaishankar & doyen of strategic thinking in modern India , said in response to a question by an American in the wake of Shakti II tests on what was our strategic culture that the American was asking about something which doesn't exist in the corridors of power.
Put another way as a public intellectual I recently heard in a podcast commenting in a different context - Shatrubodh ainv Swayambodh ke liye , Bodh ka hona aavashyak hain.
