problem is whether it is automatic cars (which can save a lot of fuel in Indian driving condns) or passenger safety is dictated by the industry not by govt. These companies form a invisible cartel where all of the provide the same features at a given price level. Given that we have sufficient manufacturing base we should start lowering tariffs on imports and increase the competition.
