Line of Actual Control (LAC) : India & Tibet Border Updates

I always suspected the education that you medicos got, after passing school.

It's intellectual deficit, not ideological deficit.

I doubt its strategic or intellectual.

I believe the sangh is being true to form. It shits its pants when the enemy is beyond the borders.

Its whole existence is centered around the enemy within.

Cheers, Doc

The army sees and hears everything.

A disturbing trend is now emerging.

Kargil under NDA I.

Doklam under NDA II.

The question needs to be asked. Is there a capability or an ideological deficit here.

Cheers, Doc

Let me put to you the case that this is a natural outcome of their 'weltanschauung'. They can't do much about it.

If a group sees the whole of existence as one governed by the single trope of past humiliation of a supposedly superior civilisation by a supposedly inferior one, and by the incremental reduction of the supposedly superior to increasing servitude, and increasing humiliation due to their inability to reverse the trend, and if their sole purpose in life is to correct, if possible with retroactive effect, these humiliations, then there can be little space for other ideas in such a toxic mental environment. If that group, united behind that one thought, of taking revenge, bamboozles some others and comes to power and to exercise authority, then whatever they look at is measured in terms of that single objective: taking revenge. When they look at neighbouring countries, they don't see the realities of the situation as it is and as it has developed over the years, or centuries, or whatever is past. They see, first, totally alien cultures, and they are hugely self-congratulatory when they strike up a dialogue with it. To them, it is a phenomenal step forward, from what they know very well, their own mental state of hatred of such alien cultures. To other bewildered onlookers, it is simply a step in the same direction as others before them had taken. Now, look at what happens.

When a limited human outlook such as this does what it thinks is a sublime, a magnanimous act of acceptance, the corollary is that the entity to whom such enormous condescension has been shown should immediately grovel, and subsequently slavishly devote themselves to supplication of this superior civilisation and its transcendent human values. And what if this doesn't happen? Or what if this happens, but not to the full extent as the benign and superior beings expect as a humble step towards the inferiors recognising their goodness?

Hell breaks loose.

That is what is happening in every one of our foreign relations imbroglios. And that is what explains Kargil y'day and Dokhlam today.

Guys, please discuss the topic here, the thread has derailed from post number 20 itself.

Edit: Good to see that someone cleaned it.

Elevated Chinese FM Wang Yi set to be key negotiator in boundary talks with India

hina’s tough-talking Foreign Minister Wang Yi was elevated on Monday to the top diplomatic post of State Councillor, a move which could make him the new Special Representative to handle the vexed boundary negotiations with India, according to officials. Wang, 65, would also continue to head the Foreign Ministry, becoming the first Chinese official to hold the dual post in recent years. Wang’s name for the post of State Councillor and Foreign was endorsed by the parliament – the National People’s Congress (NPC), state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang proposed Wang’s name as part of a new set of officials to head various positions for the next five years in the government headed by President Xi Jinping. In Chinese power hierarchy, State Councillor is ranked higher than Foreign Minister and considered as the top diplomat of the country. The State Councillor is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the policies of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC).

Wang succeeds Yang Jiechi, 67, who last year has been elevated to become member of the CPC’s Politburo, a high ranking body of the CPC headed by Xi. By virtue of being the State Councillor, Wang is also expected to succeed Yang as China’s Special Representative for India-China boundary talks, though officials say the Chinese government’s position will become clear only after an official notification. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval is India’s Special Representative.

Under this mechanism, the two countries have so far held 20 rounds of talks with limited success. The Special Representatives mechanism is widely regarded a key post as its plays a major role in providing a broader policy framework for the course of the India-China relations because the two officials have the political mandate to discuss the whole gamut of the relations during their annual meetings. The India–China border dispute covers the 3,488 km long Line of Actual Control (LAC). While China claims Arunachal Pradesh as Southern Tibet, India asserts that the dispute covered Aksai Chin area which was occupied by China during the 1962 war.

The tough-talking, suave and articulate career diplomat, Wang served as China’s Vice Foreign Minister, China’s Ambassador to Japan and Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office. A fluent speaker of English and Japanese, he took over as Foreign Minister from Yang in 2013. Chinese Foreign Ministry officials say under his stewardship, the Foreign Ministry has acquired higher profile unlike in the past when it worked under the shadows of the CPC and the military.

He along with Yang were expected to play a bigger role in strengthening China’s influence in the neighbourhood and beyond under the leadership of Xi who is now set for a longer tenure, perhaps for life as China’s leader heading the CPC, the military and the presidency following the removal of the two-term limit for the president. On March 11, the NPC, regarded as the rubber-stamp parliament of China had ratified the constitutional proposal to remove the two-term limit followed by Xi’s predecessors.

While outlining Beijing’s foreign policy perspectives earlier this month, Wang had called on both India and China to shed “confrontationist stance” on issues of differences. “The Chinese dragon and Indian elephant must not fight each other but dance with each other,” he had said, adding “if China and India are united, one plus one is not equal to two but eleven”. During the Dokalam stand-off, Wang had claimed that India “admitted” to entering Chinese territory and said the solution to the standoff was for its troops to “conscientiously withdraw” from the Doklam area in the Sikkim sector.

“The rights and wrongs are very clear and even senior Indian officials have openly stated that Chinese troops did not enter into the Indian territory,” Wang had claimed. “In other words, the Indian side admitted to entering the Chinese territory. The solution to this problem is very simple: conscientiously withdraw,” he had said, indicating the tough stance of Beijing during the 73-day stand-off.

it is simple , anti nationals and anti national political parties in bharat get desperate during the rule of BJP , and they try their best to malign the immage of the BJP government to the best of their abilities , and for that they have no limits , best examples are mani shankar and rahul khan alias rahul fake gandhi .
the anti national khangress machine was into existence before we got independence from britishers too . all the disputes with china are gifted by super human nehru's intellectual powers .

The Virat Hindu Sangh was also present along with the Congress at the same time.

The whole nation knows who did what in the freedom struggle.

Its a wonder the frothing crowd do not find chullu bhar paani to doob maro in.

If the inference drawn from this article is what one fears it to be , its a very sad day indeed for all of us. It seems as if in their eagerness to undermine Modi , anything and everything is fair . I don't know what's worse , the " fact "as alleged in the OP that the Chinese have renewed their attempts at building a firm road leading to faster incursion by the Chinese when they do wish to prosecute an invasion in our part of the valley or juvenile and in the final analysis dangerous attempts by a section so direly opposed to the current regime that they literally have no qualms about cutting their nose to spite their face .

in your eagerness to defend modi you will dispute anything that comes contrary to him.

so go down on your knees and say Congress has balls of brass.
They do . But in the wrong end . Btw - , my late dad always maintained that the only male PM the Congress I produced was Ms. Indira Gandhi ( for some reason he despised PVN) & within 5 years of MMS rule , he dropped dead . That's how he felt about MMS & the Congress under "brass balled" SG

your father was a sane man. Unfortunately if only he knew how much 'male' the current lot are, that would not go down well with him.
