Google will rescue bike-riders caught in traffic jams
Two-wheeler riders caught in traffic jams can breathe a sigh of relief. Google has launched 'two-wheeler mode' for its map as an India-first feature. The two-wheeler map will show short-cut routes for the motorcycle and scooter riders.
"Two-wheeler mode in Maps shows trip routes that use “shortcuts” not accessible to cars and trucks. It also provides customized traffic and arrival-time estimations," said Google in its blog.
The two-wheeler map will also show landmarks on the route.
"Since so many Indians rely on local landmarks for navigation, two-wheeler mode will show major landmarks on the route so that riders can plan their trip before starting, and don’t have to keep checking the phone on the go," added Google.
The two-wheeler mode will be launched in more countries in coming months.
Apart from this, Google today also launched Google Assistant for JioPhone, 'Google Go', 'File Go' Android apps, and Android Oreo (Go Edition) for entry-level smartphones.
