India conducts key flight test of anti-airfield weapon
This was the second successful test firing of the smart anti-airfield weapon (SAAW) from the Jaguar fighter plane in a week -- it was earlier fired on October 28. The weapon has a range of 100 km.

The Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) for the Ti & other super alloys is definately for aerospace applications. The >400mm ingots could be for large shafts like those used on the main rotor of helos &/or propeller shafts of ships.
Many ceramic radomes use a nose tip that is of a greater mechanical rigidity than the radome's ceramic material. In the case of the NG-ARM we know the material is crystallized silica ( likely alpha-quartz). Silica has excellent electrical properties for the radome application, but it has very poor mechanical strength. Without a re-inforcement the radome is susceptible to breakage at hypersonic flight regimes.
Therefore a metal or dense crystal tip is added with a metallic wire frame to add to the mechanical strength. The frame remains hidden inside the radome where as the nose tip is visible. Here is the Astra's radome, notice the tip.

Projects like this should be done by the industry. And there are so many of them.
Even Navy designs are not indigenous in that sense as almost 60% subsystem including engines and main radar, CIWS etc all are foreign designs.
Still they give us huge advantage to choose whatever best available in international markets and even our own subsystems if nothing suitable is available like CMS,Sonar and other sensor systems, torpedo and other ammunition etc.
It’s not perfect but not bad either.

The quality of videos produced by the DRDO doesn't need better better production standards , it needs a complete overhaul beginning with firing of those involved in the making of such videos & I don't mean only the production staff here but those within the DRDO who commissioned the entire program.

What exactly have we learned from the video ? That the SAAW can penetrate some sheltered unit . Do we know the build quality of the structure ? Negative. Do we see any massive damage inflicted in the interiors upon penetration ? Negative. What exactly is the message we're sending out to our enemies or even the amateur defence enthusiast here ?
Previously we had the video of the VL SRSAM posted here . The whole damn video lasted a few seconds focusing only on the initial stage of the launch not the actual engagement & that too was completely off focus.
We just haven't learnt the art of propoganda & Balakote isn't where it began or ended . It was merely another damn episode in the unnecessarily steep learning curve of our security management & by the looks of it they haven't learnt a thing.

We have to contend with BARCAPS
Some hardened shelters will require Repeated attacks or SPICE bombs
By the way Sargodha is more than 150 KM away
You know more important than SAAW is RUDRAM Series of ARMs
Once Ground Radars and SAMs are dead , PAF becomes blind
And till RUDRAM is inducted , Air Launched BRAHMOS will be used for SEAD and DEAD missions

That was impressive. Nothing underneath it would be able to survive.
SAAW is a single class of bomb (120Kg), whereas SPICE is a family of three classes of bombs. SAAW easily replaces one of those classes. We have other bombs that replace SPICE too, like Gautham (1000Kg) and Gaurav (550Kg).
