Taiwan has 200 m60 tank, 450 cm11( Taiwanese tank with m60 chassis and older m48 turret) and 80 newer m1a2 abrams in service( 100+ordered).
~90% of their tank fleet is more obsolete than even the earliest model t72 tank.
Like modern IFV's have heavier armour than those tanks.
Only 10% of newer abrams can be considered modern enough.
Total fleet of +700 tanks.
Their IFV& APC fleet is relatively better with 500+ modern cm32 wheeled apc/ifv.
Though still have 650 old m113 tracked apc.
And 300, 4 wheeled v-150s APC, though its more of a armoured car with ligher armour.
Their towed artillary fleet is also dominated by outdated 105mm howitzers, with max range of ~11km.
but a small but significant percentage of 155mm modern light weight howitzers.
And then the older fixed 203mm ww2 era howitzers for coastal defense( guaranteed will be taken out by china immediately at the start of any invasion).
Their shelf propelled artillary is in better position with 65% being older variebts of 155mm m109 tracked spg.
(T72's era tracked spg)
And rest obeselete spg's.
Their rocket artillary include 100+ post ww2 era rocket artillary with upgrades.
And few dozen more modern rocket launchers( indegenious and US made(.
As for air defense.
Taiwanese army has few units of short range air defense
And then mostly MANPADS.
They lack any integrated airdefense system or any layered net.
All in all that's the list of equipment, as for tactics their equipment does not allow them to employ modern network and comminucation Centric tactics at its current form.
Their airforce is in relatively better shape, and receiving newer blk72 f16 and upgrading their outdated f16's to blk72 standard avionics wise.
Though still most of their f16's in service are more outdated than tejas mk1.
They also have decent no. Of their domestic fc1 fighters, which were upgraded to tejas mk1 standard.
They also have few patriots battery, but their long range and medium range airdefense systems overall in its current form is quite inadequate, specifically against China.
That's the current Taiwanese land and air force.
And in 2010 and early 2000's their military didn't had any of this newer gear in small amount, nor the upgrades in their outdated platform.
Chinese military at even in early 2000's was more modern than Taiwanese military.
