TD actually has always been part of the DRDO (or any other scientific research oriented org) working methodology. This is part of your standard operating procedure (SOP). To develop a new futuristic technology and product, first you need to develop your technological capability and your countries industrial capability need to have a certain technology readiness level. That only happens when there is coherent involvement & joint work between your academia & research/applied science. Otherwise what happens, you develop a certain technology, but there is no industry taker within your country, so a foreign company comes offers you money & buy that patent+all rights of application.

Re pakistan, you have to consider that they are eating off both usa and china hands, two nations that currently at geopolitical crossheads. It also has backing of middle east & keeps relation open with Iran and afghan despite border clash. All this happen because everybody finds a use off them & they are willing to provide one at the expense of their awam.

There is every good chance that like the nuclear tech, the western coalition let them have it, possibly together with china.

We are dealing with problems similar to what the Americans have been facing with the F-35. A lot of it has to do with software. There were some design issues and manufacturing defects too, but those seem to have been resolved.

The Pakistanis do not have parity with India when it comes to missiles, they are many generations behind. But when it comes to CMs, they have found some success at the low to mid end. It's definitely to their credit that they have something to show for it, unlike us. It's unclear if they have received help in this sector, but considering multiple successes across many countries in this area, it's not surprising if they have managed it on their own. All I can say is DRDO needs to pick up the slack and fix things on their end.

Anyway success is relative. What the Pakistanis consider a success may not be what India would consider a success. While they have seen successes in some areas, it doesn't mean the same stuff will pass muster in India.

If anybody here believes Ganja that Paxtan had reverse engineered a Tomahawk CM building up it's own portfolio of CMs in this fashion, I've a bridge to sell them.

Have we forgotten how China grandfathered the entire unholy Nexus between DPRK & Paxtan where the former exchanged blueprints of CMs & BMs with the latter for designs of the N bomb both of which were of Chinese origin.

Weren't US sources reporting how Benazir Bhutto took A Q Khan with her during her state visit to DPRK where this exchange happened in the mid to late 90's ? Doesn't every CM & BM of Paxtan have a counterpart in DPRKs arsenal & till not so long ago in Chinese arsenal too ?

Pakistan & north Korea are two proxies of bat munchers that are being used as a distraction.

Not necessarily. They have had this level of tech for sometime. I'd say there was definitely foreign input in certain areas, like South Africa and/or Turkey, but there's quite a bit of their input too. It's 'cause there are not enough countries around that will be willing to break the MTCR rules even if they are not a signatory to it.

And just 'cause we have seen significant failure in this area doesn't mean others will fail too. It's 70s era tech after all.

Technology derived from Ra'ad was likely used to create the Babur.

Not only North Korea, A Q Khan also went to Netherlands and got critical nuke tech. The Dutch knew everything but still betrayed India.

On the other hand thankfully, we have our Dr. Bhaba, Dr. Sarabhai and Dr. Kalam along with plethora of other super talented scientists to do the job in-house.

Any comparison of this shitty state of Pak with our nation is just bloody sickening, IMO.

We could have tried reverse engineering kh59, no news on those Vem tech programs, waghantak etc. This particular one should be our own version that should have seen daylight by now. Hopefully their mou with munition India is for such purpose.

Once our Manik engine becomes fully operational and mature, that should open up so many options for ITCM future derivatives. Which may include our own desi "Storm Shadow" like stealth cruise missile. Designing a stealthy airframe is not going to be a difficult work for our guys.

Turbofan engines, both small and large, remain the biggest fly in the ointment for us.

If it touches speeds of upto Mach -5 , how's it hypersonic ? IMO we're simply getting carried away . Our hypersonic program is proceeding on track . We haven't reached there yet though we'd get there by the end of the decade if not before.

When the CMD Brahmos himself has gone on record during AI-23 , stating we'd take 7 yrs from date to develop a hypersonic version plus we've it from fairly reliable sources the Russians would share Zircon technology after 2027 , where did this hypersonic missile come from ?
